Blockchain for manufacturing startup SyncFab recently announced their association with Enterprise Ethereum Alliance.
SyncFab is a blockchain technology company established in 2013 and based in San Leandro, California, where tech meets manufacturing. They aim to simplify supply chain management and create a transparent blockchain procurement platform within the hardware manufacturing supply chain.
Their team has 4 primary missions:
Make manufacturing locally easy Bring Blockchain into traditional supply chains Build the largest advanced manufacturing network Develop Smart Manufacturing tech for Industry 4.0SyncFab will leverage its position as a member of EEA to collaborate with industry leaders in pursuit of ethereum-based enterprise technology best practices, open standards, and open-source reference architectures. SyncFab joined Enterprise Ethereum Alliance to collaborate with leading manufacturers and government initiatives on the architecture and deployment of enterprise blockchain solutions to support the vision of Industry 4.0 through the SyncFab platform.
As the name EEA denotes, the alliance is built to customize ethereum for industry players. It aims to “define enterprise-grade software capable of handling the most complex, highly demanding applications at the speed of business.” Its members are an eclectic mix of large and established organizations in their respective industries as well as startups.
They are helping to evolve Ethereum into an enterprise-grade technology, providing research and development in a range of areas, including privacy, confidentiality, scalability, and security. The EEA is also investigating hybrid architectures that span both permissioned and public Ethereum networks as well as industry-specific application layer working groups.
The open-source framework will enable the mass adoption at a depth and breadth otherwise unachievable in individual corporate silos and provide insight into the future of scalability, privacy, and confidentiality of the public Ethereum permissionless network. The alliance’s partners will help develop foundations for use cases within several industries, such as post-trade settlement and supply-chain tracking.
