The European Central Bank (ECB) marked international youth day by posting a video of its president, Christine Lagarde, inviting young people to help guide the future of the Euro. Tweeted from the ECB’s official account, the video features Lagarde explaining how the central bank is the custodian of something that “belongs to you”.

ECB Sees Digital Euro as Useful for ‘All Citizens’

The European Central Bank (ECB) posted a tweet on Jan. 23 in which ECB President Christine Lagarde calls a properly-implemented digital euro “of service for all citizens”. Lagarde made her statement at the ECB Governing Council meeting in Frankfurt am Main.

ECB Asks For Opinions on Digital Euro

In a Jan. 8 tweet, the ECB asked for public opinion on digital Euro implementation. This form of Euro will be a central bank digital currency (CBDC) under the ECB. The board has been talking about the possibilities of a digital Euro for some time.
