The long crypto winter seems to be over and there seem to be glimpses of a bullish run on the horizon.
Now, the central figures in the crypto ecosystem are coming up and giving their views on their project as they want to ride the positive sentiments in the market. Recently, Roger Ver, a proponent of BCH spoke to media executives of his company Bitcoin.com.
He spoke about the recent advances and events around Bitcoin Cash. To begin with he spoke about coin.dance. Coin Dance was founded with the goal of giving the bitcoin community an easy way to access important statistics about the cryptocurrency.
In other words, Coin Dance is seeking to democratize bitcoin while preserving one of its central tenets: bitcoin shouldn’t be managed by one central authority. It was built to be a decentralized currency. Ver said:
“The Bitcoin Cash network has now been upgraded! 5461 blocks have been mined under the new consensus rules! Bitcoin Cash is currently 20.4% ahead on proof of work. Bitcoin Cash is currently 54 blocks ahead.”
They then discussed about Open swap which is a fork of electron cash atomic swap on Bitcoin Cash. They discussed how this feature played a role in the recent bullish surge of the coin. He added:
“As a crypto-first company, it’s important that we build features that let people take advantage of the unique attributes of cryptocurrency. That’s why we’re beginning to roll out a new feature called Convert, which customers can use to convert one cryptocurrency into another.”
They then discussed about a new protocol called the InterPlanetary File System or IPFS.
The Bitcoin Files platform recently added IPFS support by working with the Protocol Labs project. IPFS, otherwise known as the Inter-Planetary File System, is a protocol designed to make the internet far more distributed by creating a peer-to-peer network of content-addressable hypermedia.
Cryptocurrency projects have been using the IPFS protocol for quite some time including platforms like the Openbazaar marketplace. Digital asset-based organizations that use the IPFS system within their products and applications believe the protocol adds a better form of overall decentralization.
