What Is CryptoCare?

CryptoCare is a social impact platform based on Ethereum, which gamifies philanthropy through crypto collectables. The platform seeks to become an Ethereum platform that is both interesting and has a positive impact in world. CryptoCare achieves this through encouraging the use of decentralized technology by the crypto community when donating to organizations with positive global impacts.

Currently, some of the causes available for users to donate in include Environmental Protection, Humanitarian rights, and Digital Rights. The charities that the platform has collaborated with under those categories include Electronics Frontier Foundation, Heifer International, GiveDirectly, Rainforest Foundation, WildMe and US. Over $600 has been donated so far and 55% of that amount has been donated to digital rights charities.

Participation on the social impact platform does not require creation of an account, passwords, credit card information, or any other personal user information. To begin donating on CryptoCare, users are required to adopt one of the Crypto Collectibles.

After completion of the adoption process, a smart contract is generated, which will send 95% of the funds to the impact organization that the user has selected and the remaining five percent will be used to support the platform. In return, the user will receive a customized collectable as a proof of deed for the donation. The collectibles are in form of digital assets; therefore, users will require a digital wallet where they will store it.

The collectibles and the Proof of deed remain on the Ethereum Network as well as on the InterPlanetary File System this will mean that the user’s data will not rely on one point of failure and theoretically enable the data to live forever.

Apart from the Crypto collectibles, CryptoCare will generate ERC-721 non-fungible tokens known as CryptoCare Pals every time a user makes a donation. The tokens will include the user’s artwork for their avatar, the user’s name, their pal’s name, and the details of the donation. The CryptoCare pals owned by the users can be viewed through a crypto browser or a cryptocurrency wallet.

The CryptoCare pals belong to the users and therefore they have complete control on what to do with them. Currently, the available options include displaying it in a gallery, printing it on a mug, or even importing it to another decentralized application.

CryptoCare has integrated OpenSea to enable the users to transfer the ownership the CryptoCare Pal to other users. OpenSea is a marketplace where users can place bids or bid for CryptoCare collectables. Similarly, there are also other numerous ways to transfer the CryptoCare pals.

CryptoCare has collaborated with philanthropic organizations to provide users with unique crypto collectibles that will represent the donations they have made.

The platform does not require credit card, passwords, or email addresses in order to participate supporting a cause. This ensures that the whole process is completely secure and that the platform maintains anonymity of the users.

Through the stats portal on the CryptoCare website, users can have insights to all the supported beneficiaries of CryptoCare and the amount donated to each. They can also view the crypto collectibles that have been adopted.
