Crypto prices continue to slide on Jan 10: BTC sinks below $92k, ETH, XRP down 2%

Cryptocurrency prices today continued their downward slide.

The global crypto market cap shrunk by approximately 0.90%, now standing at $3.27 trillion.

The total crypto market volume over the last 24 hours is $151.72B, reflecting a 9.94% decrease.

The total volume in decentralized finance (DeFi) is currently $10.17B, accounting for 6.71% of the total crypto market 24-hour volume.

Stablecoins dominate the market with a total volume of $139.32B, making up 91.83% of the total crypto market volume in the past 24 hours.

Bitcoin slid below the $92,000 level, and Ethereum, Solana, and XRP all fell by over 2%.

This decline comes as the market awaits US jobs data, which could influence expectations regarding interest rates and, in turn, crypto valuations.

Bitcoin (BTC) price today

Bitcoin (BTC) is trading 0.24% lower at 93,599.58. Bitcoin a made low of $91,220.84 in the past 24 hours.

Its market cap has fallen below $2 trillion to $1.85 trillion.

The coin’s trading volume slipped around 6% to $60 billion.

Bitcoin experienced $43 million in liquidations in the last 12 hours, with the majority from long positions.

Ethereum (ETH) price today

Ethereum (ETH) is priced at $3,254.67, down close to 2% from the previous day.

Its low was $3,159, while the high was $3,341.

Dr Sean Dawson, the Head of Research at DeFi protocol Derive, has made a bullish prediction for Ethereum’s (ETH) price, forecasting that the second-largest cryptocurrency could surge as high as $12,000.

XRP and SOL price today

XRP is trading at $2.29, down 2.16%, with a 24-hour low of $2.24 and a high of $2.36.

In a related development, Ripple Labs transferred 300 million XRP to an anonymous wallet, raising concerns over a possible market sell-off.

Solana (SOL) is trading at $189.40, down about 2%, with a low of $182 and a high of $195. The coin is facing continued bearish sentiment alongside the broader market.

It is now down close to 30% from the all-time high of $263.83 it hit last November.

Crypto gainers today

In the last 24 hours, the top gainer is Bitget Token (BTG) which jumped over 4%.

Kaia (KAIA), which rose by 3.88% to $0.21 grabbed the second spot.

Trading volumes for the coing were up close to 10% at $61.53 million.

Crypto losers today

On the other hand, the top loser today is THORChain (RUNE), which dropped by 17% to $3.22.

SPX6900 (SPX), fell around 7% to $1.20.

Litecoin (LTC) is currently trading at $103.89, down 0.11% in the last 24 hours.

NEAR Protocol (NEAR) is priced at $5.05, up 0.32% over the past day.

Mantle (MNT) is currently valued at $1.17, with a 1.50% drop in the last 24 hours.

Monero (XMR) is trading at $192.34, showing a 1.80% decline in the last 24-hour period.

OKB (OKB) is currently priced at $46.89, down 0.27% in the last 24 hours.

Ondo (ONDO) is currently valued at $1.26, with a 1.11% drop in the last 24 hours.

Neo (NEO) is currently trading at $14.69, showing a 1.51% decline over the past 24 hours.
