European-based cryptocurrency trading platform Currency.com has announced the appointment of Steve Gregory as the head of its United States business. According to the firm, Gregory is a former Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Counsel at the global spot market exchange, CEX.io, and also worked at Gemini Trust.
The firm tapped on his expertise and experience to lead it through the U.S and Canadian market. Gregory who is based in Net York will act as the Chief Executive Officer of Currency Com US LLC, the US subsidiary of Currency.com.

As the cryptocurrency space grows in popularity , it’s imperative that we continue to uphold the highest regulatory and compliance standards to help more people invest with confidence. I am looking forward to contributing to the long-term success of the business,” Gregory noted in a press release by Currency.com.
As the cryptocurrency grows, its largest threat is its success. Notably, governments are more likely to add more regulations in the cryptocurrency market should the industry pose a threat to its financial system.
Currency.com reported a notable growth in the past 12 months since the Defi frenzy. According to the firm, it recorded an increase of 250% during the first quarter in comparison to the last three months of 2020. Additionally, the crypto firm reported a spike in trading activities that reciprocated to approximately 134%. The crypto firm offers digital assets services, whereby Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Litecoin, and XRP accounted for the topmost traded coins in the first quarter.
