CoinGeek Desires To End Hostility With Bitcoin Cash

Calvin Ayre of CoinGeek has recently made an unprecedented move by reaching out to Bitcoin Cash in an effort to generate a truce. In a blog post, he stated,

“Both sides agree not to attack each other’s chain, and let the chain compete as separate offerings in the marketplace. Basically, both sides give up the claim for BCH and start even.”

The blog post differed significantly from Ayre’s previous statement, in which he noted that he intends to continue the animosity “for months.”

Ayre’s proposal to create a truce is an interesting move, especially in light of the fact that his efforts come after one of the most prominent and challenging hard forks in the cryptocurrency sector. Craig Wright, a Bitcoin SV proponent, instead that he had implemented Bitcoin correctly and had rightly devoted hashtag power to the missing pool in the BCH network.

After the hard fork, a dispute arose between both sides. In an attempt to prevail, each side participated in heavy mining. Instead of being a profitable move, the parties experienced significant losses. BitMex estimated that BSV lost $242 percent, and ABC lost 58%.

Ayre, rather than completely surrender, he claims that the other side had cheated by using hash power that it had rented. At this point though, the tide seems to be changing for Ayre and rather than continue the dispute, he is looking to correct it. He has stated that he intends to “make sure that no one in our camp launches any legal proceedings.” Bitcoin ABC supporters may be experiencing some relief as a result of the truce as well.
