This is part of a larger expansion effort made by Coinbase, which is pushing to become a global force in the crypto world now by adding more markets and assets. Since its launch in 2012, the company has, according to the post, working towards an open financial system that can make the world a better place.
The company was able to participate in a total of 33 countries and help people to buy and sell crypto assets in these countries. Now, Coinbase has added six European markets in the following regions: Andorra, Gibraltar, Iceland, Lithuania, Isle of Man and Guernsey.
From the list, it can be seen that now the company in opening new markets in small countries and regions that can represent a fast growing for the company in Europe without all the difficulties of penetrating in new large markets. More expansions are to come, probably.
Any client from each of these six countries can now register on Coinbase and start using the app or the official site for buy and sell orders. Each market will have its own specific set of cryptos that can be traded on it, as some regions are more prone to offer some tokens and others may have legal problems with them.
Coinbase has also affirmed on the blog post that the company is currently striving to push innovation forward and that Coinbase Pro and Coinbase Prime may soon be available on these regions but the company would need regulatory certainty before making the move.
About Coinbase’s ExpansionThe company is looking to enter even more market in 2019 so we can hope to see some exciting news next year. With the belief that crypto is “without borders”, the company’s ultimate goal is to offer its services in the whole world.
Just this week, Coinbase was able to put new assets on the exchange. These were mostly ERC20 Ethereum-based tokens and they were not added to all the jurisdictions of the company until now. These new assets include Golem (GNT), Maker (MKR), DAI and Zilliqa (ZIL).
