Circle APIs have already offered many different ways for users to transact money, including major payment rails like wire transactions, card transactions, and even blockchain-based payments for USDC. Now, the company has made a move to expand the possibilities even further by adding ACH support to its APIs.
Circle adds support for ACHAccording to Circle’s recent announcement, the company has recently teamed up with ACH to add yet another payment method to its ever-growing list of supported services. The announcement says that Circle users will be able to make and receive payments via ACH, and convert their money in and out of USDC.
The company also pointed out that, alongside ACH as a payment rail, it is also adding comprehensive support for Payments and Payouts products.
The addition of ACH to Circle APIs will allow customers a middle solution between card payments — which can be rather expensive if users aim to make larger transactions — and wire transfers, which can be surprisingly cumbersome for smaller transactions.
Circle also teamed up with Plaid for improving various processesAccording to Circle, the company has also partnered with another service called Plaid, which will make connecting bank accounts and accepting ACH payments quick and easy. It will also be significantly faster to verify accounts, and customers will be able to connect their banks to the company in record time.
Also, Circle stressed that there is no need for the banks to share customers’ account details with the company, or its customers.
But, this connection with the banks will also bring major benefits when it comes to the security of the funds. It will prevent some common errors caused by humans inputting information manually, such as mistyping bank accounts and routing numbers. It will also help reduce risks of fraud and alike.
All ACH payments will settle automatically in USDC stablecoin in customers’ Circle Account, while payouts will enable automatic conversion from USDC into ACH transfers.
Sam Bankman-Fried, the CEO of FTX exchange, noted that his platform has adopted Circle APIs, and it already tried out ACH services. With payments now being faster, safer, and more reliable than ever, FTX can now offer the fastest possible experience to investors.
