Chainlink, a leading blockchain oracle network, has announced that its comprehensive suite of products is now fully accessible to developers on the Ethereum layer-2 network Base, managed by Coinbase.
This strategic move marks a significant milestone in the ongoing expansion of Chainlink’s infrastructure, as it seeks to empower the next generation of decentralized applications (dApps) with advanced on-chain capabilities.
Chainlink products integrated on Base networkThe Base network has quickly become a prominent choice among Ethereum layer-2 solutions, gaining widespread attention from developers and the broader blockchain community.
With its ability to process over 4 million transactions daily, more than double the volume handled by its nearest competitor, Arbitrum, Base has proven its robustness and scalability.
This makes it an ideal platform for the integration of Chainlink’s innovative technologies.
This integration includes key products such as Data Streams and the Verifiable Random Function (VRF), both of which are instrumental in enhancing the security and efficiency of dApps.
By providing access to these tools, Chainlink is enabling developers to create more sophisticated, secure, and user-friendly blockchain applications.
Chainlink’s innovative productsChainlink’s Data Streams offer a cutting-edge solution for the decentralized finance (DeFi) market, delivering high-frequency market data and low-latency automatic executions.
This innovation allows DeFi products on Base to offer an experience comparable to that of centralized exchanges (CEX) but with the added benefits of on-chain transparency and security.
As Thodoris Karakostas, Head of Blockchain Partnership at Chainlink Labs, pointed out, the low-latency data from Data Streams empowers developers to build the next generation of DeFi solutions, with some platforms like Avalanche-based GMX already leveraging this technology.
Another standout product, Chainlink VRF, has established itself as the leading random number generator (RNG) in the Web3 ecosystem.
With more than 21 million transaction requests completed across various blockchains, VRF is a critical component for ensuring the fairness and security of on-chain applications.
The latest version 2.5 of VRF brings significant improvements, including a more efficient billing system, better gas consumption predictions based on network conditions, and a smoother user experience during software upgrades.
Despite these advancements, VRF maintains an impressive end-to-end latency of about two seconds, ensuring reliable performance across different use cases.
The integration of Chainlink’s comprehensive product suite into the Base network is expected to accelerate the adoption of blockchain technology among developers.
By providing robust tools such as the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Price Feeds, Chainlink is paving the way for the development of more advanced and secure on-chain applications.
Tom Vieira, Head of Products at Base, emphasized that the availability of Chainlink’s infrastructure on Base will drive further innovation in the DeFi space.
