Noting that the Cardano project strives for transparency, the content marketing & community manager at IOHK, Maki Mukai posted the Cardano Foundation’s answers to some commonly asked questions in a recent forum post.
Cardano’s Fund Movement and Partner AgreementThe first question Mukai answered was related to the funds received by the Cardano Foundation at project launch.
She noted that the Foundation would publish their ADA coin holdings to clear the air on this matter.
She also noted that the funds of the Foundation were moved from one wallet to another at some point, but this was done to ensure the security of private keys.
She noted that no ADA tokens were moved to other addresses or spent during the transfer. This will be visible in the upcoming statement from the Foundation.
Mukai highlighted in one answer that the remit of the Foundation is provided on its website where a business deed states:
“Senior Adviser to England’s Central Bank Governor Says Cryptocurrencies Fail Financial Services Fundamental TestsThe Foundation’s mission is to the promotion of developments of new technologies and applications, especially in the fields of new open and decentralized software architectures. She also stated that the Foundation is working on ATMs and cards at the moment and that Emurgo, one of the three developers of the blockchain project, has already launched an ADA card in association with Metaps.
Talking about upcoming partnerships at the Foundation, she said that the Cardano Foundation has already partnered with Swiss Re and the Blockchain Federation in Switzerland, Crypto Valley.
Mukai added that the entity would:
“Aim to do partnerships with academic institutions for research (for example, in treasury research), with lobbying organizations with regards to the regulatory environment, with think tanks to study the space, and with private companies who are relevant for the overall development of the space.”
