Brian Armstrong, the co-founder and CEO of Coinbase, one of the largest crypto platforms in the market, seems to have a very interesting proposal for an entrepreneur in the crypto community.

The co-founder of Coinbase wrote on Twitter a small thread in which he asked the community whether someone has already tried to create a wifi access point that accepts cryptocurrencies as a means of payment. This would eventually allow individuals to earn money.

At the moment, there are several cities with dense housing in which there are dozens of access points that are protected using a password. There is, in some cases, a 1% utilization averaged during the week.

It might be possible for a developer to create a system in which the wifi network would debit funds from a specific crypto wallet with some funds on it. Clearly, this is not an easy thing to do, but it can be performed by a developer in the crypto space.

The crypto investor Tuur Demeester, Founding Partner of Adamant Capital, said that Alex Petrov, the CIO of BitFury Group has already talked about how the Lightning Network (LN) will enable things such as charging wifi by the second.

Of course, the Lightning Network could be implemented in order to process micropayments. This would make many different industries and projects much more efficient. For example, it might be possible for newspapers to sell content for micropayments according to the time that users are reading an article.

Video streaming companies could also take funds from users according to the time they watch a specific video or TV show.
