Coinbase has taken another step towards bringing all digital assets to its customers. This time, the exchange has announced support for EOS, Augur (REP) and Maker (MKR) on its trading platform Coinbase Pro. As at 12 PM today Monday 8 April 2019, Coinbase started accepting deposits in these three assets.
Trading, however, will become available after 12 hours of deposits when sufficient deposits will have been made. By then, different regions where trading will be supported will have varying trading pairs.
EOS-USD, EOS-EUR, EOS-BTC pairs will be available in all Coinbase-supported regions except New York, REP-USD, REP-EUR, REP-BTC will also be available in all Coinbase-supported regions excluding New York, MKR-BTC, while MKR-USDC will be available to all Coinbase-supported regions outside the US
Like all previous asset launches, this will be in four phases, the first of which is transfer only that is on for the 12 hours. The second will be post-only which will allow customers to post limit orders with no matches and order books in a post-only mode for at least a minute.
Thirdly, there will be a limit-only stage that will allow matching of limit orders but no submission of market orders will be allowed for at least ten minutes. Lastly, full trading will commence with a limit, market, and stop orders all available to customers.
These assets are however not yet available on Coinbase.com or the wallet app for now but will be added as time goes on. More regions will also be added to the list of supported regions and more customers can start enjoying trading in the new assets. A new and separate announcement will also be made when they are added to Coinbase.com and the wallet app.
Coinbase has the vision to bring as many assets to its users as possible and according to users demands, more assets will be added from time to time to ensure customers have access to their assets of choice on the platform. We will update you on the availability of these assets on Coinbase.com and on Coinbase wallet as well as the availability of new assets on Coinbase Pro, so watch out.
