Millions of customers around the world can now use the BitTorrent (BTT) token for payment of goods and services from hundreds of online merchants through CoinPayments.
The team at BitTorrent made the announcement earlier today and added that they are working with CoinPayments to integrate support for Tron (TRX), Bitcoin (BTC) and Binance (BNB) for payment of premium BitTorrent products. These include subscriptions for extra BitTorrent features which can increase download speeds, manage bandwidth as well as providing an ad free experience for users on the peer-to-peer file sharing platform.
A Step Forward in Increasing the Liquidity of BTTTron’s and BitTorrent’s Justin Sun, explained how BTT integration on CoinPayments will boost the liquidity of BTT before the BitTorrent Speed application is up and running later this year.
Coming this summer, BitTorrent Speed will be implemented into our popular Windows-based µTorrent Classic client to create a healthier ecosystem and a foundation where content creators can distribute their work directly across the web.
In advance of this highly anticipated release, we look forward to working with CoinPayments and other partners to make BitTorrent (BTT) liquid in the online marketplace before BTT is fully integrated into our desktop and mobile products.
BitTorrent Speed will provide an avenue to reward users of the BitTorent network with BTT in exchange for seeding and bandwidth. With over 100+ Million users on the BitTorrent network, the BTT incentives will be part of the first version of a tokenized decentralized internet. BTT will also support content creators around the world from their torrent client.
