BITmarkets, a leading exchange, recently organized a successful charity auction which saw Chris Froome’s yellow jersey auctioned for about $9000. Beyond crypto, BITmarkets has sports interests and sponsored multiple sporting events and award-winning road cyclists.
It’s no wonder BITmarkets bought Chris Froome for the fundraiser held in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Proceeds from the event will see Nicholas continue with rehabilitation and buy him additional equipment.
Nicholas, the son of Thomas Rak, Froome’s masseur, has cerebral palsy and is currently confined to a wheelchair. BITmarkets was proud to hold the charity auction, whose primary goal was to ensure Nicholas and his family handled the medical condition with dignity per the speech of the protocol’s spokesperson.
“There is a recognized mutual benefit for sport and charity working together. As a long-term partner of top road cycling, including Czech national team, it was our privilege to participate in the organization of this event and help little Nicholas to fight his medical condition. We are very happy and honored that the four-time Tour de France Champion Chris Froome was able to participate in the charity event. We managed to raise a substantial amount of money for little Nicholas, that himself and his family are managing his medical condition with great dignity and big smiles. He is a source of energy and laughter,” said Maria Apogeni, CEO of BITmarkets, who, together with Chris Froome, handed over the cheque to Nicholas’ father, Thomas, after the auction.
