The price surge of Bitcoin in almost two months has outperformed almost all traditional assets; so, naturally, Bitcoin enthusiasts would want to know the price of Bitcoin 5, 10, or 20 years from now. An old post on Reddit by a ‘time traveler’ who is supposedly from the year 2025 has been doing just that, confirming the price of Bitcoin since 2014. The Reddit post is straight out of a sci-fi novel and mentions some exciting as well as dark augurs that happen in the future.
The traveler said that Bitcoin’s price will hit a million US Dollars in 2021, after which comparing the price of Bitcoin in terms of USD would no longer be the norm; shockingly, central bank-issued currencies will no longer run the economy. He mentioned there will be 19 million Bitcoins in circulation and on an average people will hold about 0.001 to 0.003 BTC.
The reason why this post gained traction is the price prediction; the post stated:
“On average, every year so far, the value of Bitcoin has increased by about a factor ten. From 0.1 dollar in 2010, to 1 dollar in 2011, to 10 dollar in 2012, to 100 dollar in 2013. From now on, there’s a slight slowdown, as the value increased by a factor ten every two years, to 1,000 dollar in 2015, to 10,000 in 2017, 100,000 in 2019, and 1,000,000 in 2021.”
All of the predictions have been true, (in a way). The price of Bitcoin did go from $1,000 in 2015 to $10,000 and beyond, in 2017. Although this might be good for Bitcoin enthusiasts, the “traveler” mentioned some serious negative effects it had on society.
Bitcoin $100,000 by end of 2019Moreover, if what the traveler says is true, then the price of Bitcoin will reach $100,00 by the end of 2019, which would mean that the price of Bitcoin must rise a whopping ~1010% in the next 7 months or so. In 2017, the price of Bitcoin went from $1,320 to 19,200, which is a staggering ~1300% rise in approximately 7 months; hence it might be entirely possible that Bitcoin may do something similar. The traveler also mentioned that Bitcoin will hit $1 million in 2021, which would mean that McAfee loses the bet.
Additionally, in 2025, there would only be four institutions with access to massive amounts of Bitcoin according to the traveler,

The time traveler’s original post received criticism while some were curious to read through the post. The traveler has since posted from many accounts and even had an AMA on Reddit and answered a couple of questions.
