Bitcoin Supporter And Anarchist Dies After Being Attacked In Acapulco
A Bitcoin and cryptocurrency analyst called John Galton died as a result of an attack in Mexico. The information was released by the Associated Press on February 3. John Galton was at his home in Acapulco when he was shot dead.
According to John’s partner, Lily, the gunmen went straight for John and his friend Jason Henza. However, the latter was able to go to a hospital and survive the shooting. The Mexican police were able to find equipment to process drugs, glass pipes and also marijuana plants at their home.
After the attack, both Lily and Henza reported the situation using Facebook posting videos of the attack. Henza seemed to be heavily affected after he said that he ‘was not doing so good.’
Both John and Lily were hosting ‘Meat Ups’ at a local restaurant. At the same time, they wanted to find speakers for an anarchist conference that was going to take place in Acapulco as soon as the end of February.
Henza explained that a U.S. Department of State official said that the Bureau of Consular Affairs was aware of an investigation into the death of a U.S. citizen in Mexico, specifically in Acapulco. Nevertheless, he did not provide more information about this issue.
In a recent video uploaded to YouTube, Galton mentioned that Acapulco was safer than other U.S. cities such as Chicago or many others. Acapulco has a problem with drug gangs, similar to what is happening in Mexico as a whole.
It is not clear why these two individuals were attacked. There is no information regarding what they were doing in Acapulco and if they were involved with drug gangs in the region.
