The world watched aghast the horrific incident on Monday evening in Paris as a devastating fire engulfed the Cathedral of Notre-Dame. One of the most iconic landmarks of France, The Gothic monument suffered major damages as the building’s spire and roof collapsed during the fire.
After the incident, President Emmanuel Macron assured the population that the Notre-Dame would be rebuilt and reconstructed, with two French business tycoons announcing a combined donation of about 300 million euros.
Gregory Raymond, a crypto journalist @MagazineCapital, rallied in after the president’s announcement and called for support from the entire Bitcoin [BTC] and crypto community.
Gregory released a tweet and attached a QR code with it and stated that the community needed to prove their sentiments to the French authorities. He believed that it was important to demonstrate the power of Bitcoin to transfer funds faster for a genuine cause without any complications or regulations from a centralized authority.
Gregory’s effort to raise funds for the Notre Dame was applauded and well-received in the crypto sphere.
“The circle of the coin”, a French Bitcoin community, offered it’s support for the cause and stated,
“The circle of the coin will support this process of @gregory_raymond. A multi-signature address will be set up to give donors more guarantee. We communicate very quickly.”
