Calvin Ayre, who many consider to be Craig Wright’s right-hand man in the media, recently called out Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance, for being a ‘scammer.’
Recently, Zhao made an innocuous tweet about staking. He announced that his exchange, Binance, would now be offering staking services and users “literally don’t have to do anything,” to participate. This is because the funds you hold on Binance are automatically staked and you can still trade as you normally would. Binance is looking to support more staking options for everyday users in the future.
Staking service @Binance. You literally don't have to do anything. Your funds on Binance automatically participate. You can still trade as you normally would.

Some, however, didn’t take too kindly to Zhao’s remarks. Riding off a tweet by 1jack (@luijackc) which criticized the idea of making money while “literally doing nothing,” Ayre replied that “CZ is just scamming,” and would retweet 1jack’s tweet in support.

Ayre runs CoinGeek.com, which many see as the leading media front for Craig Wright’s antics. It is there that conspiracy theories are consciously peddled out on an almost daily basis about how Craig Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto and how Bitcoin SV will forever change the world.
In the original tweet, 1jack even calls staking harmful to the aims of a productive society. The implication seems to be that it would create a society of layabouts. However, this strawman argument is absurd given that there is no way that an entire society can live off staking — nor is anyone claiming that to be the case.
It’s unclear what point 1jack or Ayre is trying to make other than to force ‘the true Bitcoin is BSV’ narrative into the conversation for the hundredth time. The cryptocurrency industry has so far largely rejected this narrative.
Do you find it ironic that Ayre believes he has any right to call out Zhao for being a scammer? Let us know your thoughts below.
