Ongoing Annual Meeting For The AEA Will Feature Four Presentations On Blockchain And Crypto
The American Economic Association holds a yearly meeting and is responsible for publishing the American Economic Review, making them a major force within the economics of the US and worldwide. In a recent announcement, the association stated that they would be including four presentations that are entirely dedicated to cryptocurrency, blockchain, and the research in the industry. The session, as a whole, is called “Blockchain and Tokenomics.”
The Econometrics Society will be hosting this session, which will be chaired by Lin William Cong. Cong worked with the Chicago Booth School of Business as a professor of finance. The fact alone that these topics will be discussed at the organization’s meeting is substantial, showing the mainstream presence that the technology is establishing.
Each session is based on an existing paper that is influencing that aspect of the session. The four papers taken into account are:
“Decentralized Mining in Centralized Pools” “Cryptocurrencies: Stylized Facts on a New Investible Instrument” “A Theory of ICOs: Diversification, Agency, and Information Asymmetry” “Tokenomics: Dynamic Compensation for Decentralized Contribution.”Cong’s paper, which discusses the subject of mining, is extremely crucial for the current state of the market. Bitcoin’s decline in price has caused a lot of disruption for the industry as a whole, especially for miners.
