The leaking of data has become somewhat of a common occurrence. When an adult site leaks cam model data, however, it is evident that something needs to change.
It is evident that any company storing sensitive information needs to take proper precautions.
PussyCash has a Data Leak ProblemFor one reason or another, this remains a pressing problem in this modern era.
PussyCash, an adult affiliate network, is a prime example of how not to go about one’s security-oriented business.
According to research by vpnMentor, the platform leaked sensitive information of its cam models.
This includes their full name, date of both, ID photos, signatures, fingerprints, and much more.
In total, of 20GB of data has been leaked, spanning over 875,000 documents and files.
This data has now surfaced again on an Amazon server in Virginia.
The entire batch of data is compressed into one zip folder per model and includes various file extensions.
Other than documents, there are also photos, videos, and video chat logs.
Despite vpnMentor reaching out to PussyCash to report the issue, the affiliate network seemingly didn’t respond.
PussyCash also owns the ImLive brand, who have confirmed they will address the data leak accordingly.
Why this information was accessible – and seemingly unencrypted – remains a mystery to this day.
