There are several figures and celebrities that have backed Bitcoin (BTC) and could have invested in the most popular digital asset in the market. After the crypto ‘bubble’ in 2017 when the price of the Bitcoin reached $20,000, the number of investors grew almost exponentially.
In a recent article, Business Insider makes a brief summary of the most important celebrities that invested in the crypto market. These are just examples of important people that are involved in the space, but there are many others around the world that are also actively participating in the market.
One of the individuals that showed interest in virtual currencies is Microsoft Founder, Bill Gates. Although he had some negative comments about it, he mentioned during an interview with Bloomberg that it can be a better currency that it is not necessary to be held physically by users.
Microsoft is also investing in different platforms that are working with virtual currencies, including Bakkt, which is going to be launched to the market in the near future.
Another celebrity that is involved in the crypto market is Gwyneth Paltrow. Back in 2017, she accepted to be part of the Bitcoin wallet called Abra. At the same time, she shared an article in November related to how to invest in Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies. This was the first article on the site she runs that is known as Goop.
Snoop Dogg and Paris Hilton have also been involved in the cryptocurrency market, or at least in the crypto space. Back in 2013, Snoop Dogg sold albums for 0.3 BTC each. That means that he would have just earned $1,000 per album. Meanwhile, Paris Hilton stated that she was looking forward and ready to participate in a new Initial Coin Offering (ICO).
Aston Kutcher is a strong advocate of Bitcoin. He has invested in UnikoinGold and in other companies such as Uber, Airbnb, and BitPay, among others. Unikrn has been marketing the UnikoinGold currency as a digital asset to be used for betting.
Hugh Laurie is known for his role as Gregory House. He entered the market four years ago after the suggestion that he received from a friend. He started with a sum of $5,000 at that time.
Mike Tyson has also been in the market for a long period of time. Back in 2015, he launched a Bitcoin ATM system and a Bitcoin wallet that shared the same branding as a Bitcoin ATM.
The popular celebrity Pitbull has also participated from the crypto market. He announced in April 2018 that he would be launching a cryptocurrency to revolutionize payments in the music industry.

The singer and former member of The Spice Girls, Mel B, announced that she was accepting Bitcoin payments for her 2014 Christmas single through a partnership with CloudHashing.
She commented on the matter:

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has also been promoting several Initial Coin Offerings such as Hubii Network, Centra and Stox. He has also uploaded a picture on Twitter in which he says that he was spending Bitcoin, Ethereum (ETH) and other cryptocurrencies in Beverly hill.

Madonna worked with Facebook and Ripple in order to promote an online fundraiser and benefit the Raising Malawi foundation. Ripple promoted the event by matching each dollar donated to the campaign.
Johnny Depp has also decided to get involved in virtual currencies. He became a partner of the blockchain startup TaTaTu. This platform rewards users each time they interact with content such as films or games.
There are many other individuals and companies investing in digital assets and cryptocurrencies. Not only retail investors have only been placing their funds in digital assets. Some of these celebrities could have bought several thousands of dollars in Bitcoin and other virtual currencies.
