Vitalik Buterin Believes That There Is Huge Progress In The Decentralization Of Ethereum
The co-founder of the Ethereum blockchain, the now third largest crypto in the market, Vitalik Buterin, was recently interviewed by Blockchain Insider. During the interview, Buterin spoke about how Ethereum is becoming more and more decentralized lately.
According to the creator of ETH, Ethereum was always too centralized around him and this is starting to change now. He sees a huge progress in terms of how decentralized ETH has become and has affirmed that many governance actions in the last 12 months were highly responsible for this.
Buterin has affirmed in the interview that a lot of features of Constantinople are happening “without him” and that he was not involved in many of the changes that are happening now.
Constantinople, the new update of the Etheruem blockchain, will happen around the block #7080000, according to developer Peter Szilagi. The change will probably happen around January 16, 2019. The new update will have five Improvement Protocols that will change how Ethereum work. Buterin was involved in some of them, but not a lot of them.
Another important change that is bound to happen is Ethereum 1.X, a new update which will take place during June 2019 if everything goes according to the plans. Buterin has affirmed that the new update will help with the scalability of the network and that the whole effort to create this technology happened without him at all.
Casper and Sharding, two other upcoming solutions are now being carried out by five different teams and he was only marginally involved in the projects.
Basically, Ethereum is finally moving past Buterin, which is a change for the better in order to create more decentralization in the network. He ended up the interview by affirming that he could now affirm it 18 months ago, but now he is sure that the community is fully autonomous.
This is great news for the blockchain world as Ethereum may have lost its place to Ripple in the market cap but it is still one of the most important crypto projects out there.
