Visa, in partnership with Crypto.com, bring NFTs to the World Cup with their Masters of Movement campaign, a fan experience that includes a world cup themed NFT auction for charity.

Beginning the 1st of November, Visa will mint and auction off five NFTs inspired by some of the most unforgettable goals in both Men’s and Women’s World Cup history, from legendary players including Michael Owen, Tim Cahill, Jared Borgetti, Carli Lloyd, and Maxi Rodriguez.

These unique works of art were created using an algorithm from XK studios which uses the movements and positions of the ball and players to create unique and dynamic digital pieces of art.

The auction, which is taking place on Crypto.com, allows fans to bid on the NFTs with all proceeds going to Street Child United, a UK charity that aims to protect and support children living on the street.

When the auction comes to an end on Nov. 8th, the fans with the highest bids will not only receive their new NFT in their Crypto.com wallets but will also receive printable art files and signed memorabilia from each respective player whose goals are featured in the NFTs.

However, the NFT fan experience doesn’t stop there. Visa will also be inviting thousands of fans to the Masters of Movement space at the FIFA Fan Festival in Doha, Qatar, which takes place from November 19th through December 18th.

At the Visa Masters of Movement space, fans will be able to create their own digital art using the same technology used to create the aforementioned NFTs currently being auctioned off.

These lucky fans will step into a digital LED pitch that contains motion-tracking technology which will capture their movements and transform them into their own unique digital artwork.

In addition to showing off their skills on the pitch, the fans will also be able to choose the color scheme of the art based on the colors of their favorite team.

This unique digital art will be sent as a souvenir to each fan with a lucky few being able to receive them as one-of-a-kind minted NFTs.

Steven Kalifowitz, Chief Marketing Officer for Crypto.com stated that “The FIFA World Cup is one of the most anticipated sporting events in the world, and we are incredibly excited to give fans a new way to engage with this epic event.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Visa in bringing Visa Masters of Movement to life and offering fans the opportunity to create and collect the most unique collectibles at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 that will live forever on the blockchain.”

Throughout this event, fans will also be able to learn more about the new ways that Visa is enabling money to move around the world, including new and innovative technologies like crypto, and other even newer digital solutions that will allow more people to access and participate in the global economy.
