OKCoin crypto exchange announced on Jan 27 that it has partnered with Unstoppable Domains to introduce customizable crypto addresses for its users. The firm said that the collaboration would make it much easier to send and receive crypto; users will now choose to create their preferred names instead of using the standard hex designed crypto addresses. Notably, Unstoppable Domains provides its domain services to over 40 crypto-oriented wallets and applications.

With the industry being over a decade old, one would expect that a seamless UX is among the nascent niche's fundamental standards. That’s not the case, especially with crypto wallet addresses; in fact, most newbies are scared away by their complex nature. OKCoin’s partnership with Unstoppable Domains is an effort to eliminate this hurdle by creating an ecosystem where users can customize their addresses to memorable names like james.crypto or john.zil. The blog states that,

“With Unstoppable Domains, OKCoin customers now have the option to replace their standard public wallet addresses with their own single, customizable, blockchain-based domain names … Your domain name will allow you to easily transfer a wide variety of cryptocurrencies between OKCoin and 40 external wallets and apps.”

Apart from the option to customize one’s crypto wallet address, Unstoppable Domains goes a notch higher to introduce anonymity for both private and public crypto addresses. Normally, they are displayed on the blockchain explorer and can be viewed or tracked by anyone interested. The Unstoppable Domains domain cost is between $20 to $40 and can be purchased on their website.

OKCoin CMO Haider Rafique said that the partnership with Unstoppable Domains simplifies the crypto UX for everyday investors. He went on to note that Unstoppable Domains will be instrumental in achieving this goal,

“Unstoppable Domains greatly increases the ease of moving crypto. This is important when onboarding new customers were sending and receiving can be daunting at first. We must provide the necessary tools for users to succeed on our platform, and we believe that this partnership with Unstoppable Domains is a step in removing friction in trading and using crypto.”
