Top NFTs The most popular NFT collections — CryptoPunks and Bored Ape Yacht ClubThe CryptoPunks NFT collection was created in 2017 by Larva Labs as 10,000 uniquely generated pixelated characters on the Ethereum Blockchain. Minting was available for free to anyone with an Ethereum wallet. CryptoPunks are known as one of the earliest NFT projects. Celebrities such as Jay Z and Snoop Dog have acquired punks, and two months ago, Larva Labs announced a deal with one of the top Hollywood talent agencies.
“CryptoPunks have become among the most sought-after NFTs on the market,” said Michael Bouhanna, a contemporary art specialist at Sotheby’s.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club appeared four years later —with each one a unique Bored Ape. The collection was launched in late April 2021 by a team of pseudonymous developers, and each ape was sold for approximately 190-200$ (0.08 Ether). Within 12 hours of launch, the collection was sold out, according to CNET. Ultimately many celebrities are entering this club.

In November, late-night TV host Jimmy Fallon joined the club, and soon after, American rapper Post Malone revealed one of his Apes in his new music video “One Right Now” with The Weekend.
According to NFTnow, other celebrity members include NBA player Stephen Curry, ex-NBA player Shaquille O’Neal, world DJs/producers such as Steve Aoki, The Chainsmokers, and Marshmello, and owner of the Dallas Mavericks Mark Cuban.
There is clearly no shortage to the number of celebrities entering the world of NFT projects and it may bring relevant support to the projects.
