Nvidia has announced a new advanced artificial intelligence (AI) chip to speed up content creation. The chip will position companies to take advantage of AI’s “iPhone moment,” claims Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang.
The CEO argues that content generation is inseparable from graphics processing. He envisions a future where AI will learn skills in and design virtual worlds.
New Tools Will Empower Faster Deployment of Enterprise AIAlready in production, the new GH200 superchip will speed up a generative AI process called inference. Generative AI tools create original content by processing existing information through a large-language learning model.
Additionally, a new software tool can daisy-chain Graphics Processing Units (GPU) for AI projects with complex workloads.
Using Jupyter Notebook software, enterprise customers can fine-tune AI responses to text-based prompts. They can then deploy the AI-generated output to enterprise applications through Nvidia’s AI Workbench.
Companies using the new tools are expected to deliver complete systems by Q2 next year. Prominent firms building AI infrastructure include Dell Technologies, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, Lenovo, and Supermicro.
Regulators Struggle to Catch UpThe rising power of AI tools has spawned widespread concern that humans could soon be extinct. Others are concerned about predictions by several prominent institutions on how AI could reshape the global labor force.

In April, Tesla CEO Elon Musk co-signed an open letter calling for halting all AI training pending “sound governance.” The plea was largely brushed aside, with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong arguing no one is qualified to oversee the space.
In the UK, the chief of the prime minister’s AI task force said regulators must act before AI becomes too powerful. Labour Party spokesperson Lucy Powell has proposed regulating AI like nuclear power or medicine.
ARM, the company whose technology Nvidia uses in its AI chips, operates from the UK.
