ICON Foundation announced in its official post on Medium that it was sponsoring the blockchain event wittily named DE-FERENCE 2018.

The conference took place today, August 11, in Seoul, South Korea, where the ICON team presented the latest projects that they have been working on over the past year. The team behind ICX also hosted a discussion about the active problems within the blockchain industry.

The event, which was held in one of the conference rooms at the National University of Seoul, aimed to seek academic help in terms of improving the by far known blockchain technology.

As further added in the official statement, the team held the event mainly to attract more attention from the academic community in order to be able to solve the burning issues related to the blockchain, while sharing their insights on what has already been accomplished.

While turning one just a few days ago, August 8, it was announced, prior to the “birthday celebration” of the ICON project, that ICX got Ledger Support, ensuring more efficiency, security, and availability of ICX tokens.
