Hollywood Votes for Bitcoin: Gwyneth Paltrow Joins the Game?
While initially cryptocurrencies represented interest only for a very narrow circle of enthusiasts, since that time the crypto community has grown dramatically and it is still growing.
Celebrities and CryprocurrenciesThough sometimes celebrities are viewed as celestials, they are still human beings and simple things are not alien to them. But as for cryptocurrencies, quite often the fact that stars (starting from athletes and ending with Hollywood actors) show their interest to these digital assets is explained by simple promotional campaigns of crypto projects that they participate in.
The crypto community has already seen how Brazillian football legend Ronaldinho was launching his own RSC Coin in partnership with the World Soccer Coin; how Paris Hilton, a socialite and Hilton hotel chain heiress, was promoting a cryptocurrency ICO; and even how DJ Khaled and Floyd Mayweather engaged the audience to join Centra Tech ICO and then were accused of having promoted an illegal cryptocurrency scam.
Gwyneth Paltrow to Promote CryptoThe list of stars advertising crypto-related projects is constantly growing and now we have a new name in this list. Gwyneth Paltrow has become a newcomer.
Though we can’t know whether she finally has got fascinated with the amazing world of a decentralised monetary system, nevertheless, we know for sure that she has been acting as an advisor to the Abra ICO, a project aimed at offering a wide range of services to facilitate access to cryptocurrencies, since 2017.
Yesterday, on her personal Twitter account, Gwyneth published a Q&A with Bill Barhydt founder and CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange app Abra from Goop website. The celebrity has been running this resource for nearly 10 years already and she participates rather actively in the development of the site.
Great piece with @billbarhydt on @goop today https://t.co/cBoeHJ9ts7

It is believed that Paltrow made this tweet just with a view to promote her website attracting public attention to an article that is called The Basics of Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency—and How to Invest. Millions of her followers have already seen this tweet and the reaction was more positive than negative. But there is no clear understanding whether the actress has taken a decision to join the rows of crypto investors or not.
Abra’s VisionIt’s worth mentioning that in the above mentioned interview Abra’s CEO has sounded several interesting ideas about Bitcoin and the modern financial system. He said:
“Ultimately, anything has value because people agree that it has value. Government-issued money, such as the US dollar, has value because we all agree that it does, mostly because our government accepts payments of tax debts only in its own money.”
He also believes that Bitcoin is able to help people in poorer regions to lease such rather expensive home electronics as washing machines, refrigerators, televisions, etc. In his opinion, consumers will have a possibility to send a small amount weekly to the crypto wallet of providers which will make the electronics work.
