Interest For Bitcoin Remains High Around The World

Although Bitcoin (BTC) and virtual currencies did not have a positive year, the interest in virtual currencies remains high. There are several retail investors and people that are very interested in understanding how cryptocurrencies work and which is the future potential they have.

According to a new study conducted by the independent market research firm Provoke, 69% of Americans are interested or very interested in knowing more about virtual currencies. The survey was commissioned by eToro in order to determine the sentiment of online investors.

In this study of 1,000 online investors, 44% of them said that their limited knowledge of the asset One of the things they mentioned about why they do not invest in these assets is because they have limited knowledge of these virtual currencies.

Guy Hirsch, eToro’s U.S. Managing Director, commented on this issue:

“Late 2018 has seen the cryptocurrency market take a huge tumble, but that has not stymied investors’ interest in the asset class and its potential. Online investors are still keeping their eye on cryptocurrencies, but this survey revealed that there is a serious lack of educational resources available to those who would like to invest in or learn more about crypto.”

43% of the respondents said that they learn about virtual currencies using social media or YouTube channels. This shows that due to the fact that there is not enough knowledge in the space, the rates of adoption are lower than what they potentially could be with better knowledge resources.

At the same time, the survey shows that there is a gender gap that has always been there in the space. Both of them are equally interested in virtual currencies. The problem is that women are 39% more unlikely to buy cryptocurrencies because they do not have the necessary knowledge about these assets.

There are some firms that are starting to produce better content for cryptocurrency enthusiasts. This is the case of Binance Info and its Gold Label Project and Coinbase launching Coinbase Earn. There are many ways to learn about virtual currencies, but clearly, information must spread on the internet for people to learn more about these digital assets and increase adoption.
