Trezor, one of the largest crypto hardware wallet manufacuter in the world at the moment, has issued a warning yesterday, November 19, that it had recently discovered that people were creating and selling fake hardware wallets claiming that they were made by the company.
Together with Ledger and KeepKey, Trezor forms one of the top wallet manufacturers in the world, so it is expected that scammers would use the name of the company to fool users into believing that the company was offering safe products.
The problem started when the company discovered that someone described as an “unknown third party” was distributing one to one copies” of the Trezor One wallets. The clones were manufactured by other companies and they were completely equal to the real wallets in size and shape but they were fake.
Trezor affirms that any wallet that is not fully created by the company has the potential to be a scam and that the tokens of the clients will not be safe if they decide to buy a fake model. The company has even compared the fake wallets to fraudulent free token scams and endorsements on the internet.
These scams generally use figures like Elon Musk and fake profiles to draw people in and steal their money and Trezor is concerned that these companies might be doing the exact same thing.

The fake products allegedly come from China and the company has affirmed that the users should be suspicious when purchasing allegedly Trezor products from third parties on the internet.
The company has ended its note affirming that whenever you do not feel like you can fully trust whoever is selling the product, you can simply proceed for the official channels to purchase it.
