Around 24 hours ago, Ethereum saw a small price growth that led it to the resistance level at $400. This was not the first time that the coin has reached this height in the last several months, but the past venture beyond this level resulted in a strong correction.
With that in mind, Ethereum’s return to this barrier was seen as a positive thing. However, while many assumed that the coin might simply remain at this height or maybe slightly breach it before being rejected again, the coin skyrocketed by 10%, instead.
Ethereum’s new surge takes the coin towards the $500 markThe surge started yesterday, August 31st, in the late morning. The coin went up sharply, reaching a resistance at $435 in only a few hours.
Interestingly, this resistance managed to hold for over 12 hours, still keeping ETH from surging further up by the early morning hours of September 1st. However, as the new day arrived, the surge suddenly continued as investors recognized the positive behavior, and decided to buy Ethereum in greater numbers.
Ethereum typically doesn’t lack in transactions, of course, considering its huge ecosystem that includes dApps, countless altcoins, DeFi, and more. However, the coin’s trading volume visibly started to grow even further up earlier today.
On August 30th, Ethereum’s daily volume was at around $8.6 billion. Right now, only two days later, the amount has more than doubled and the coin’s trading volume currently sits at $17.5 billion.
Meanwhile, the coin’s price continues going further and further up, currently sitting at $470.65. At the same time, the ETH market cap has surged to nearly $53 billion.
At the moment, Ethereum is doesn’t only see a great new price, but also a new 2-year high, as the last time its price surged this high was around August 7th, 2018. Of course, back then, the coin’s price was dropping due to the crypto winter. Right now, it is rising in a recovery that has been expected for years.
ConclusionEthereum price exceeded all expectations in the last 24 hours, surging past resistances and making a new 2-year high above $470.
