In an official blog post, last Saturday, July 14, San Francisco-based crypto trading giant Coinbase announced that is it is “ exploring the addition of several new assets”.
The five cryptocurrencies that Coinbase wishes to add to its platform include Cardano (ADA), Basic Attention Token (BAT), Stellar Lumens (XLM), Zcash (ZEC), and 0x (ZRX).
One month ago in June, Coinbase announced listing of Ethereum Classic (ETC), a derivative of the original Ether (ETH) tokens.
However, Coinbase noted that adding these new five digital currencies will require additional exploratory work at their end considering that they have a different architecture.
Two months back in May, Coinbase announced four new institutional products, of which the Coinbase Custody already has gone live earlier this month.
Coinbase, a leading U. S-based crypto exchange has announced plans to add support for 17 new cryptocurrencies on a jurisdiction-to-jurisdiction basis. The digital assets include Telegram’s Gram token, Polkadot, Dfinity, Filecoin, and several others.
Coinbase recently launched the 12 Days of Coinbase event as part of the Holiday Season. The event will provide daily announcements in line with the exchange’s plans to improve customer experience on the platform and to make cryptocurrencies available to everyone.
Coinbase has announced that it plans to list over 30 cryptocurrencies, with many more to follow. In its largest listing spree to date, the California-based exchange will add dozens of cryptocurrencies in the coming months, including dai, mana and neo.
In an announcement earlier today, the President and COO of Coinbase, Asiff Hirji, notified investors and crypto enthusiasts that the firm had added an additional $300 Million of investment at a post-money valuation of over $8 Billion.
The online travel agency CheapAir will start accepting Bitcoin payments again after Coinbase decided to shut down its merchant solution earlier this year. In order to accept crypto payments once again, the company had to make a partnership with BTCPayServer, an important payment processor in the market.
The company is currently working on the regulatory front to make sure that these five new cryptocurrencies fall under the ambit of the existing jurisdiction.
