Social media platforms are a great way to build communities, whether it is to support a cause or a business goal. Many popular platforms like that of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, are some of many that have seen growing communities, however, many projects will not last over the long run.
Both Twitter and Facebook have seen their share prices drop over the course of months, as such platforms are slowly becoming similar to that of Yahoo – one that gained popularity and eventually died off. So, what will be the next big social media platform? Who will redefine the face of the internet? A recent post shared by the GlobalCoin Report made the argument that Tron might be a strong contender to consider.
The CEO of Tron, Justin Sun has continuously voiced his goal with the Tron Project, expressing that its blockchain will one day be the reason for a restructure in the world wide web. In addition, it is the only crypto project thus far to have such a focus, making it all the more possible for Tron to overtake social media platforms.
A growing concern that needs addressing in today’s social media platforms is interference, as many firms have had the opportunity to control users’ information, preference and guidelines as to what can be posted and what cannot. This not only limits users’ freedom of expression, but also prevents content creators from voicing their opinions, however controversial it might come out.
All this is argued as something that will become of the past given that the Tron blockchain is efficacious in redefining social media platforms. Most importantly, its decentralized system is said to promote a peer-to-peer system and rid the existence of control.
While this is something that is forecasted for times to come, it does not seem like a bad idea, as Sun was successful in acquiring BitTorrent, which is known for being a leader within the software sector to bring the notion of a peer-to-peer system to life.
Do you think the faith of Facebook and Twitter will be similar to that of Yahoo? Will Tron be the one to not only a strive as a cryptocurrency but also as the one to determine how the Internet will turn out?
