The city of Miami now has the whitepaper of the leading cryptocurrency on its official website.
Earlier this year, the city uploaded a copy of the Bitcoin whitepaper to its municipal website, joining a growing number of governments and companies hosting Bitcoin’s original blueprint.
Mayor Francis Suarez has been a vocal supporter of Bitcoin, looking to “turn Miami into a hub for crypto innovation.”
Miami supported us while hosting Bitcoin 2021, now it’s our turn to support Miami.

Last month, the city hosted a two-day Bitcoin conference attended by 12,000 participants where Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said, “I don't think there's anything more important in my lifetime to work on” than bitcoin.
Suarez, who opened the Bitcoin 2021 conference, also announced the launch of MiamiCoin, a Miami-specific cryptocurrency.
“This is not a moment. This is a movement.”
Recently, Suarez also welcomed Bitcoin miners of China, where regulators are cracking down on cryptocurrency mining aggressively and pushing them overseas.
“We want to make sure that our city has an opportunity to compete,” said the Mayor at the time adding,
“the city of Miami understands how fundamentally important it is to our future and how it could change the paradigm in the way people live their lives.”
Boosted by Suarex’s efforts, crypto exchange FTX secured naming rights for the city’s NBA arena, now called ‘FTX Arena.’ Blockchain.com and stock and crypto trading platform eToro also announced their plans to establish their headquarters or offices in Miami.
A few weeks back, Suarez reemphasized selling his city as the world's cryptocurrency capital, saying,
“We want to be on the next wave of innovation.”
