Tezos has been recently chosen as one of the public blockchains that are set to be integrated into the Blockchain-based Services Network (BSN), an international public infrastructure network for blockchain projects and firms. A blog post unveiled this news on September 25, noting that this nomination means developer teams can now access the Tezos protocol by leveraging BSN’s global public city nodes and portals. In so doing, they will be able to develop and launch their projects easily.

Per the blog post, this integration will let developers create and deploy their permissioned chains inexpensively and seamlessly in under an hour. The developers will also be in a position to access all public chains through one gateway using a simple monthly plan.

Steps to follow while building on Tezos

The publication went on to explain how developers will be able to build on the Tezos blockchain through BSN.

The first step involves accessing the BSN Global official website, create an account, and log in. The developer will then have to follow the link in the activation email, set a password, and then activate their account. What follows is going to the control panel after logging in select permissionless services.

After this, they will need to choose a node they prefer and select a plan that meets their needs. At the moment, there are three global public city nodes. These are Hong Kong, California, and Paris. Upon completing this step, the system will assign a PCN in the Permissionless Services list.

Subsequently, the developer should click on “Create a New Project” and key in a project name. After doing so, the system will generate a dialogue box prompting them to choose a chain. At this point, the developer may either select Tezos Mainnet or Testnet. Completing this step will successfully create a new project that runs on the Tezos blockchain. Here, the developer will be able to see detailed information regarding the project such as its ID, key, and address from the project list. To complete this step, the developer will have to click on the action icon to generate a project key.

Finally, the developer can test their endpoint by using the following formula,

Request header needs to include x-api-key where value=Project Key and x-api-sub-path = RPC endpoint

Request URL = Access Address

To get more information about this point, the developer can access Tezos’ GitLab page, according to the blog post. The publication went on to state that developers can access all Tezos-provided APIs in similar ways, and they would get the original data. By following the above steps, a developer will be able to code on Tezos without having to operate a node of their own.
