Brian Armstrong Apologizes If He Was Critical Of People Working On Bitcoin
Brian Armstrong, the CEO and co-founder of Coinbase, wrote a thread on Twitter about Bitcoin’s ten years and his experience during the last years in the space. He started by saying that although there are people that think that he does not like to talk about Bitcoin he wanted to do this thread.
He said that the first time that he heard about Bitcoin was back in 2010 when he read Bitcoin’s white paper in a link on Hacker News during Christmas. After reading it several times he couldn’t stop thinking about it the next months. Indeed, he was excited about having a protocol such as the internet that would create a more open financial system for the world.
Although his friends did not believe that Bitcoin was going to be as big as it currently is, he decided to start working on various projects, such as a Bitcoin wallet for Android phones. In this way, he was able to learn about Bitcoin and the code behind it.
Later, he was also able to purchase the site coinbase.com for $1,800. Now Coinbase is one of the largest and most popular exchanges and companies in the space. It offers different products and services to companies and individuals in many different countries.
He has also mentioned that he wants to apologize to those that he criticized and were working on Bitcoin and virtual currencies.
12/ To the extent I was critical of people working on any part of Bitcoin or crypto in the past, I apologize. My hope is that we see this technology succeed in the world, and my hat is off to anyone working to make that happen.

He finished the thread saying that we are still at the beginning of Bitcoin’s development and that the full promise of Bitcoin is still yet to be realized.
14/ Every day, I see more talented people coming in to the space, and I’ve never had more conviction about crypto and what it holds for the future. Happy 10th anniversary Bitcoin!
