The blockchain startup Blockstack has a new Financial Controller in its team. Saurabh Pathak, a former BlackRock executive has decided to join Blockstack. The information was released by the company on Wednesday.

BlackRock is a company that is currently managing $6 trillion dollars in assets and is one of the most important in Wall Street. Pathak has been working in the company controlling $4 trillion in the Americas region. At the same time, he was the CFO of BlackRock Canada.

Blockstack is known as the ‘new internet’ for decentralized applications (dApps). dApps are growing all over the world and in different networks such as Ethereum (ETH), EOS or Tron (TRX), among others. Pathak will be helping the company with the increasingly tight regulatory environment. It will also be trying to improve the company’s compliance.

In a recent blog post, Muneeb Ali, co-founder of Blockstack and CEO of Blockstack PBC, commented about it:

“When I first met Saurabh, we talked about how much he enjoys the HBO show Silicon Valley. He was later surprised to find out that I’m a technical advisor on Season 5 of the show in which Pied Piper tries to build a decentralized internet. I’m excited to welcome Saurabh to a real-life version of the show, where we’re building a leading decentralized app platform.”

In addition to BlackRock, Saurabh has been working at Erns & Young and Deloitte. He is also a Chartered Accountant, a Certified Public Accountant, and a Series 27 license holders. He started his career when he obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mumbai University.
