Blockchain dev platform Alchemy adds support for layer-2 scaling solution Optimistic Ethereum

Alchemy, a blockchain development platform, today announced that Optimistic Ethereum, one of the most highly anticipated layer-2 solutions for Ethereum, will officially be supported on the platform. This will enable developers to dependably leverage Optimism’s scaling capabilities.

Optimistic Ethereum

The Optimism team, as pioneers of Optimistic Rollups, designed a system that enables instant transactions on Ethereum. With higher throughput, lower latency, and lower costs; their network will help Ethereum teams reach a new scale. Besides, Optimism gas costs are up to 35x cheaper than Ethereum’s.

Optimistic Virtual Machine (OVM) is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM); which allows Ethereum developers to migrate existing smart contracts without breaking them.
