Cointext Expands Reach To Asia

Since its unveiling in February, Cointext, the world’s first full-feature text messaging cryptocurrency platform has grown steadily, giving users access to its platform around the world. Eight months after its launch, it has now made its service available to users in Hong Kong, Palestine and Israel, according to a company press release. This recent development brings Cointext's availability to a total of twenty-five countries.

At its initial release, the cryptocurrency platform promised users unparalleled ease of use. Speaking at the launch, Vim Armany, Cointext’s lead developer, co-founder and CTO promised:

“[Cointext will be] the easiest and most powerful way to spread the use of Bitcoin Cash because it works with any type of mobile phone and you don't need any knowledge of cryptocurrency to use it”.

Since its launch, Cointext has consistently marketed its simplicity as its key proposition in comparison to what currently obtains elsewhere. The platform enables its users send Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to anyone using just a mobile phone number or a cryptocurrency wallet. No internet connection, apps, accounts or passwords are required to complete the transaction. A user simply employs text messaging, relying on the global Simple Message System (SMS).

A new user signs up by texting the word ‘START' to the provided local access number. In Hong Kong, the number is 85257456744 while in Israel is is 972526230418.

Where cryptocurrency is sent to someone who has no crypto wallet, Cointext creates one automatically and configures the wallet immediately the text message is received. Users can conveniently manage their wallets using simple SMS commands like BALANCE, SEND and RECEIVE to the given local access number of their region.

The move to deploy in Hong Kong makes it the first country in Asia to launch Cointext.

Speaking about introducing its Bitcoin Cash (BCH) service to Hong Kong, Israel and Palestine, Vin Armani explained:

“These are important regions for us to connect because they are financial centers. And Cointext gives them a simple alternative to physical cash”.

The platform offers its service in English Language in the Hong Kong, Israel and Palestine. However, provision for Chinese and Hebrew languages are being considered.

Only earlier this month, Cointext reached and included six European countries in addition to prior expansion. These are France, Germany, Portugal, Austria, Estonia and Czech Republic. Identifiably, Cointext is not yet available in Africa. However, Armani promised that by the end of the year, the company's world coverage will attain a seventy percentile.
