Altcoins Severely lag Behind Bitcoin in This Latest Bull run

2020-2-10 02:00

The current cryptocurrency market momentum tends to skew the numbers a bit. Whereas Bitcoin is closing in on its all-time high, the other top markets are not even remotely close.

That is only normal, as Bitcoin leads this industry by quite a margin.

Altcoins Aren’t Following the Bitcoin Trend yet

It will also continue to do so for the foreseeable future, if not forever.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that other top markets should remain so far behind as they are today.

Ethereum, for example, still has over $1,000 to go to reach a new all-time high.

XRP is even further removed, as it still struggles to break $0.3 despite all of this bullish momentum.

It will be interesting to see how all of this evolves in the months to come.

More often than not, alternative markets play catch-up with Bitcoin.

It may even be a moral victory to not see altcoins bleed value now that Bitcoin surpassed $10,000 again.

The cryptocurrency markets often work in mysterious ways, which is what makes them so exciting.

On Reddit, optimism remains high, although most traders know patience is of the essence.

Keeping that in mind, the remainder of 2020 should be very interesting to keep an eye on.

One can only hope this is the beginning of major fireworks for the top crypto assets worth their salt.

Ban Bitcoin Before It Disempowers Our Foreign Policy – U.S. Congressman

Bitcoin is now the topic of most financial conversations (including those not in the cryptocurrency sector) and this has made the popularity increase and the price soar even higher. The coin successfully hit and crossed the $8,000 mark and even though its been fluctuating since then, the increase by $2000 within a few days is […] The post Ban Bitcoin Before It Disempowers Our Foreign Policy – U.S. Congressman appeared first on ZyCrypto.

Bitcoin Price Up Nearly 3 Percent, Is the Market Turning Bullish?

Ever since December 2017 when the price of Bitcoin reached its all-time high of $19,511, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have been stuck in a very bearish market. Over the last six to seven month’s, the top-ranked cryptocurrency‘s value fell approximately 70 percent and even fell below $6,000 during the end of June 2018. However, despite […]

Amidst Mastercard’s Outage, Bitcoin Community Compares Its Payment Advantages

Mastercard experienced a major glitch last week, which kept their customers from charging anything on their cards. Instead, the transactions were declined. Governance, Part 2: Plutocracy Is Still Bad

Coin holder voting, both for governance of technical features, and for more extensive use cases like deciding who runs validator nodes and who receives money from development bounty funds, is unfortunately continuing to be popular, and so it seems worthwhile for me to write another post explaining why I (and Vlad Zamfir and others) do not consider it wise for Ethereum (or really, any base-layer blockchain) to start adopting these kinds of mechanisms in a tightly coupled form in any significant way.

Notes on Blockchain Governance

In which I argue that “tightly coupled” on-chain voting is overrated, the status quo of “informal governance” as practiced by Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Zcash and similar systems is much less bad than commonly thought, that people who think that the purpose of blockchains is to completely expunge soft mushy human intuitions and feelings in favor of completely algorithmic governance (emphasis on “completely”) are absolutely crazy, and loosely coupled voting as done by Carbonvotes and similar systems is underrated, as well as describe what framework should be used when thinking about blockchain governance in the first place.
