Real, a Layer 1 blockchain designed for institutional-scale real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with iExec, a provider of confidential computing infrastructure. The agreement outlines a joint effort to evaluate privacy-focused infrastructure for tokenized assets.
The collaboration will examine how key processes such as issuance, distribution, and on-chain financial operations can be conducted while preserving data confidentiality and maintaining compliance and auditability standards required by institutions.
Real’s platform supports the full lifecycle of tokenized assets, including onboarding, verification, risk assessment, settlement, and asset management. iExec contributes confidential computing capabilities through Trusted Execution Environments, including Intel TDX, along with its Nox Protocol. The protocol enables encrypted data processing, confidential smart contract execution, selective disclosure, and verifiable computation.
As part of the initiative, both parties will explore how Nox Protocol could integrate with Real’s Layer 1 to enable encrypted transaction flows, private financial operations, and confidential tokenized asset management.
“Institutions need more than tokenization. They need infrastructure that protects sensitive financial data while still allowing compliance, oversight, and auditability,” said Ivo Grigorov, CEO, Real. “Our Partnership with iExec is an important step toward exploring how confidential computing can support the next generation of real-world asset markets.”
“Confidentiality is a key requirement for institutional blockchain adoption,” said [Name, Title, iExec]. “By exploring collaboration with Real, we aim to evaluate how confidential computing and Nox Protocol can help bring privacy-preserving execution to real-world asset issuance and financial operations.”
The scope of the collaboration includes assessing confidential RWA issuance and distribution, such as encrypted balances and private transaction flows. It will also cover financial activities, including subscriptions, redemptions, dividend distributions, lending, and structured credit. In addition, the parties will evaluate selective disclosure mechanisms for regulators and auditors, as well as compatibility with custody solutions, settlement infrastructure, and potential secondary market activity.
The MoU establishes a framework for exploring institutional use cases, including tokenized funds and private credit. Next steps include technical discussions, identification of pilot opportunities, and alignment on system architecture.
As the RWA sector continues to grow, institutional participation often depends on the ability to protect sensitive information such as investor allocations and transaction data. Through this collaboration, Real and iExec aim to assess how confidential computing can support private financial operations while maintaining verifiability on-chain and enabling controlled access for regulatory oversight.
