Cryptocurrency adoption on a global scale can help in making the market less vulnerable to price swings. As the crypto sector matures, it can turn into a fully fledged financial system that it was intended to be. The cryptocurrency market has remained bearish throughout 2018. This didn’t help traders but could provide a wonderful opportunity for increasing adoption now.

A UK bar called BrewDog Canary Wharf is taking a step to host its enthusiastic crypto patrons in its own style — by offering Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash payments.

Payment Support Upcoming in Less Than Two Weeks!

In a blog post, BrewDog Canary Wharf announced that it would start accepting cryptocurrency deposits from 12 p.m. onward when it will open its doors on Oct. 19. Payments will be accepted in Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.

The bar has also decided to give away Bitcoin Cash wallets to the first 100 people who will enter their doors on the 19th. Each wallet can contain anywhere between 12 and 100 pounds in Bitcoin Cash.

The bar has created another sweepstake in which it is offering a Bitcoin Cash wallet containing coins worth 500 pounds. Users who will purchase beer from them between Oct. 19 and Oct. 21 will be a part of the raffle.

Creating a New History

On the new payment option, the company talked about challenging perceptions and being “bold and uncompromising” — traits it shares with cryptocurrency developers and miners.

The blog post also stated:

“Adopting alternative payment options for craft beer is a natural fit.”

It added:

“We hope to eventually roll out this way of paying into all of our UK BrewDog Bars… Those who rock up to our newest London bar can use either Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash (or card) to pay for any of the 20 taps of super-fresh craft beer, takeaway bottle and can options, and our loaded menu of burgers, pizza, and wings.”

The bar’s Equity for Punks program, which helped it to be listed on Sunday Times Fast Track 100 for six consecutive years, is closing on Oct. 15. The program membership is currently 70,000.

The bar will open at Unit 17, 2 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf.
